What Is LATISSE®?
LATISSE® is a prescription treatment for inadequate or not enough lashes, called hypotrichosis, and grows eyelashes longer, fuller, darker. It is the only treatment approved by the FDA for this purpose and is clinically proven to work as expected.
How Does It Work?
LATISSE® professionals believe it works by increasing the growth cycle (anagen) phase of your eyelash hair cycle. Anagen is the growth phase of all hair. Professionals believe that it increases the length of the anagen phase and the number of hairs in this growth phase.

How Long Does It Take to See Results?
Great eyelashes don’t just happen overnight. That’s why it’s important to note that LATISSE® solution works gradually and remarkably — with full results at week 16. Once you begin, you must continue applying the topical solution each night and follow the directions for best results.
How Will I Know It’s Working?
Set your sights on growth. As the treatment progresses, you’ll first begin to see changes in length. Then, gradually, you’ll notice more thickness and darkness in your lashes. If you’re satisfied with your results by week 8, don’t stop there. Stick with the treatment. After week 16, you’ll see the full effect of LATISSE® solution.
What Happens If I Stop Using LATISSE®?
If you stop using LATISSE® at any time, your eyelashes will return to their previous appearance over several weeks to months.
It Is Clinically Proven to Work?
Yes, a LATISSE® clinical study was conducted at 16 sites across the country and included 278 people. Throughout the course of the 16-week treatment period, each participant was photographed and evaluated at 4-week intervals (week 0 to week 16) for differences in their overall lash prominence, including length, thickness and darkness. At the end of the 16-week treatment period, the results showed that LATISSE® was effective for 78% of people.
Specifically, patients treated with LATISSE® in the clinical study experienced a:
• 25% increase in lash length
• 106% increase in lash thickness/fullness
• 18% increase in lash darkness
Are There Any Side Effects?
The most common side effects after using LATISSE® solution are an itching sensation in the eyes or eye redness. This was reported in approximately 4% of patients in the clinical study. LATISSE® solution may cause other less common side effects, which typically occur on the skin close to where LATISSE® is applied, or in the eyes. These include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eyes and redness of the eyelids.
Who Should Not Use LATISSE®?
LATISSE® is not appropriate for people who are allergic to bimatoprost or any other ingredient in the product. If you are under care for glaucoma, notify your ophthalmologist that you are using LATISSE®. Also, anyone with known or suspected active eye disease, or anyone who is at risk for eye disorders, should check with an eye doctor before using LATISSE®.
