Restylane® Silk in Cleveland
Restylane® Silk is one of the newest non surgical dermal filler treatments available in Cleveland, Ohio. Restylane Silk is also one of the most popular non-invasive cosmetic treatments.
As people age, facial collagen and fat begin to deteriorate. This leads thinning of the skin and noticeable lines and wrinkles. In the lower face, the result is often a loss of lip volume and definition, as well as an increase in lines around the mouth. These lines are sometimes referred to as “smoker’s lines”. Restylane® Silk is the first and only dermal filler that’s approved by the FDA for enhancement of the lips and treatment of the wrinkles and lines around the mouth.
Dr. Brian Harmych is an expert and specially trained in the use of Restylane® Silk by Galderma, the company that manufactures it.
What is Restylane® Silk?
Restylane® Silk is a clear hyaluronic acid gel filler (HA filler) used to add volume and fullness to the lips and area around the lips. Hyaluronic acid is a molecule that is naturally present in your skin. Younger skin looks more youthful in part because of the greater presence of hyaluronic acid.
What Does Restylane® Silk Do?
Restylane® Silk is precisely designed to add natural-looking definition to the lips as well as smooth lines and wrinkles around the mouth, known commonly as smoker’s lines and radial lip wrinkles. Restylane Silk may also be used to treat feathering which occurs around the lips and affects the appearance of lipstick, resulting in an aged and deflated appearance of the lips. Use of Restylane® Silk does not result in an artificial or “overdone” look.
How Is Restylane® Silk Different From Restylane?
Restylane® Silk is made of smaller, smoother particles than those used in other Restylane products. It also contains lidocaine so that there is little to no pain during injection.
How Long Does Restylane® Silk Last?
98% of patients reported a visible improvement in lip fullness 14 days after injection. 76% of patients still had lip improvement six months following injection with Restylane Silk.
What Are the Side Effects of Restylane® Silk?
As with any other hyaluronic acid filler gel that is injected into the lips, the most common side effect is temporary swelling.
